GIOIA 22

A landmark tower in Porta Nuova district has been developed by Coima SGR and designed by PCPA. It is considered a milestone with regard to technological innovation and environmental sustainability. It is LEED, WELL and C2C certified.

A high-insulated façade, with reflective glazing, wraps up the 25-story tower: Triple Glazed Units are combined with insulated thermally broken aluminum profiles to provide an overall thermal transmittance which complies with the stringent thermal requirement.

An ad-hoc facade design has been developed in order to mitigate the heat loss and the thermal bridges, giving a significant contribution to the whole building energy-saving strategy. Low-emission and high-selective glass coatings contribute to control the solar radiation and to optimise the users' visual comfort. For the same reason the building envelope includes sun-shades.

The tower generates more than 65% of renewable energy, thanks to power-optimised BIPV modules and to free-cooling.

Gioia 22 is a Nearly Zero Energy Consumption Building.
